Job Description

DragadosCanada is looking for multiple Construction Project Managers. The ConstructionProject Manager leads, directs, and exercises functional authority over allaspects of construction projects including planning, organizing, budgeting, andcost reporting; ensures that the goals and objectives of each project areaccomplished on schedule and within budget, and that quality and safetystandards are met; and directs staff in successfully accomplishing goals andobjectives. The Construction Project Manager may be assigned to assist thebidding team on an as needed basis.

JobPurpose/ Responsibilities:

Reviewsproject contractual documents to gain an understanding of the projectrequirements (time frame, budget, safety, quality, staffing, materials and equipmentrequirements), necessary to complete the project within the required timeframe.

Developsan execution plan that outlines staffing, materials, equipment, subcontracting,and other services that are necessary to deliver the project on time and withinbudget.

Verifiesestimates based on detailed review of proposal specifications.

Coordinateswith department managers to establish work plans and staffing for each phase ofthe project.

Organizesand conducts meetings with projects staff and management to communicateinformation related to each functions needed concerning project requirements.

Developsand manages customer relationship and expectations, progress reports,communication, paperwork, meetings, etc.

Leadsproject activities to ensure that the project is executed in accordance withthe designs, budgets and schedules.

Takesappropriate action to minimize the impact of deviations.

Monitorsand oversees the efficient use of materials and equipment and the contractualperformance of the project.

Conferswith project staff to ensure the assigned duties and responsibilities areperformed per agreed upon expectation.

Monitorsand oversees onsite activities, quality, productivity, progress, and safety ofemployees and subcontractors.

Overseesfinancial aspects of contracts.

Providestechnical assistance and recommends construction methods and equipment.

Anticipatespotential roadblocks and develops solutions to prevent issue from arising.

Resolvesany problems that may arise during project execution.

Implementsand monitors safety programs.

Knowledge,Skills and Abilities:

Bachelordegree in Civil Engineering. P. Eng. designation or equivalent is preferred.

PMPcertification a plus.

Minimum8+ years experience working with Major Contractor.

Demonstratedexperience applying knowledge of project accounting, project controls (cost,schedule, change management, etc.), materials management, contract management,subcontract management, safety and quality. Track records of successfully planning and executing projects onschedule and within budget.

Abilityto apply, interpret and understand contract law and language.

Experiencein building at least one or more of the following: roads, tunnels, highways,bridges, dams, light rail transit systems.

Excellentpeople and leadership skills.
